StarDict is a free, cross-platform dictionary app. This international dictionary software has quite a few powerful features under its sleeve, such as ‘scan selection word’ and ‘glob-style pattern matching’. StarDict is basically open-source, which means there are 1000+ dictionaries that support this program. The FreeDict dictionaries that could be converted to StarDict format include some older variants of Webster’s dictionary, along with several dictionaries from other different languages.
